We’ve heard Johnny Manziel’s name compared to former NFL quarterbacks like Brett Favre, but Cleveland Browns general manager Ray Farmer took it a step further when he compared the former Texas A&M star to iconic New York Yankees legend Babe Ruth.

Manziel has of course been spending his Memorial Day weekend partying with fellow NFL players and bikini-clad ladies in Las Vegas, but Manziel’s off the field activities don’t appear to bother Farmer.
Granted, he didn’t know Manziel would be leaving for Las Vegas during a momentary break at Browns camp when he spoke to 92.3 The Fan on Wednesday afternoon.
“He’s almost like the Ty Cobb, Babe Ruth throwback — he’s a guy’s guy,” G.M. Ray Farmer told 92.3 The Fan on Wednesday, via Cabot. “When you see him he’s having fun, he’s partying, he’s doing his thing. I think people are attracted to the fact that not only does he make plays and is a really good athlete . . . he’s a really good player, but he lives life.”
The party scene isn’t anything new to Manziel and for the most part, he’s always stayed out of trouble though being an NFL quarterback puts an ever bigger target on his back as opposed to when he attended Texas A&M.
Despite that, long as he isn’t bringing any negative press to the Browns, it seems as if the franchise is okay with his ‘work hard, play hard’ mentality.
