Ah yes, NBA free agency – a Summer filled with over the top rumors. But this isn’t just any free agent period, no, this is one that could potentially include both LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony opting out from their current teams.

More from LeBron James

Given that, the already busy rumor mill will be overflowing and not even a day after James and his Miami Heat were defeated by the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA Finals, noise about James’ future home is being talked about.

The most likely scenario is that LeBron decides to remain in South Beach with the Miami Heat, though, there are a few possible destinations that could lure him away from the beaches and nightclub life. One of them would be Hollywood as according to Marc J. Spears of Yahoo Sports, James and his wife ‘love’ Los Angeles.

“Well, a source said James and his wife, Savannah, love Los Angeles. LeBron James also is close with Clippers point guard Chris Paul and he admires coach Doc Rivers.”

Who wouldn’t love Los Angeles? Like Chicago, New York and many other populated cities, it’s a place most want to visit at some point in their life. But just because James ‘loves’ the City of Angels, it doesn’t mean he’s likely to sign there, even if there are two teams to satisfy his needs.

First, the Clippers have no financial room to make a deal and outside of James specifically stating that he wanted to play for the franchise, they aren’t even going to make a play for him. Not to mention, I highly doubt James wants anything to do with franchise even after the rumored sale goes through.

As for the Lakers? They’d have the financial means to make something happen, but James sharing the court with Bryant seems like a rather poor fit and it’s going to take a few seasons for the Lakers to bring their franchise out of the lottery.

So while he might ‘love’ LA, he’s only going to be playing there as a visitor much to the disappointment of Laker and Clipper fans.
