Every team in the NBA needs a surplus of shooting, perhaps now more than ever.

More from Los Angeles Clippers

That’s why New Orleans Pelicans’ swingman Anthony Morrow is a coveted player on the free agent market. He is one of the league’s very best three-point shooters and every team in the league could use another shooter (some more than others, of course). It was believed that this could be the offseason Morrow finally joins a contender and both the Miami Heat and Oklahoma City were reportedly in pursuit.

However, there are plenty of other teams in the mix.

David Aldridge of NBA.com reports Morrow is still considering the Heat along with the Los Angeles Clippers, Washington Wizards, Toronto Raptors and Phoenix Suns.

The Thunder were recently declared the leader, but that does not appear to be the case any longer. It was believed the Pelicans would like to keep Morrow and the Portland Trail Blazers were also interested in signing Morrow. As were the Chicago Bulls.  In total,  there were reportedly at least 12 teams in pursuit of Morrow.

All of the teams Aldridge listed were playoff teams last season (excluding the Suns, who were 48-34).

Morrow averaged 8.4 points and 1.8 rebounds per game while shooting 45.8% from the field, 45.1% from three and 82.8% from the free throw line.
