Although Michael Beasley has received interest from the Los Angeles Lakers (and to a lesser extent the Indiana Pacers) this offseason, the forward remains without a contract.

Beasley has worked out for Los Angeles twice though the Lakers, concerned over cap space, haven’t been willing to offer him anything more than a minimum level contract. Given that, the former No. 2 overall pick has decided that it would be best for him to wait until a better situation unfolds.

Such may have happened as according to Yahoo Sports, the San Antonio Spurs are set to work out Michael Beasley this week.

"Free-agent forward Michael Beasley is working out for the defending NBA champion San Antonio Spurs at the franchise’s practice facility this week, league sources told Yahoo Sports."

While joining the Los Angeles Lakers seems like a pretty sweet gig considering the playing time Michael Beasley could receive, joining the San Antonio Spurs would likely be a dream scenario for the former Kansas State star.

Of course, Beasley will need to impress the San Antonio Spurs front office and that’s not something that has proven to be very easy in the past. Still, it’s been said that Michael Beasley has worked hard this summer in effort to improve not only his game but his image as well.

The San Antonio Spurs have their full mid-level exception available, so money should not be a concern if they want to sign Michael Beasley.
