Apparently attempting to fill out their training camp roster, the New York Knicks have made yet another addition though this move may end up sticking around come the regular season.

More from NBA

With just 14 fully guaranteed contracts on the books, the New York Knicks have room for another player and given that decided to sign Orlando Sanchez to a contract on Wednesday afternoon. The Knicks have yet to officially announce the move though it’s understood that the contract will be a league minimum deal considering the Knicks can’t offer anything else.

The move was announced via Brian Bass, Orlando Sanchez’s agent.

So what does Sanchez bring to the New York Knicks’ roster? As of right now, it’s difficult to tell. The stocky forward most recently played for the Dominican Republic during the FIBA World Cup though wasn’t a heavy part of their rotation and only put up 2 points and 2 rebounds per contest.

Undrafted out of St. John’s, Orlando Sanchez did receive interest from the Sacramento Kings, Indiana Pacers and Philadelphia 76ers though settled on the Knicks, likely due to their lack of size.

With Carmelo Anthony and Cleanthony Early likely to handle most of the small forward minutes, Sanchez would presumably be used more in the power forward role if he was to earn a roster spot.
