The Phoenix Suns suggest they won’t be bullied into a move they don’t want to make. However, with time not on their side, they’re going to have make a decision regarding the future of Eric Bledsoe.

A restricted free agent, Eric Bledsoe can sign a one-year qualifying offer with the Phoenix Suns and become an unrestricted free agent at season end. If he is to do so, his one-year contract will come with a full no-trade clause meaning the Phoenix Suns can’t just trade him because they feel like it.

That’s likely why the Minnesota Timberwolves have expressed interest in trading for Eric Bledsoe and are hoping to force the hands of the Phoenix Suns, who obviously would prefer to get something rather than nothing in regards to Eric Bledsoe who could leave without compensation at the end of the 2014-15 season.

Given that, it’s possible the Phoenix Suns may change their stance on a deal despite not currently being interested.

"The Suns, today, seem less than interested, but a lot can change in a week, especially with training camps opening up for some teams on Friday."

It’s possible the most logical scenario for the Suns is to let Eric Bledsoe play out his one-year qualifying offer and attempt to sign-and-trade him at season end, though given his injury history that doesn’t come without significant risk.

Phoenix will need to make their decision by the first of October.
