It is official Eddie Gordon (7-1) will fight Josh Samman (10-2) at UFC 181. The bout has been agreed upon and is set to appear on the card set to take place on December 6th. Gordon recently competed on and won season 19 of the Ultimate Fighter with a KO victory over Dhiego Lima (9-2) in July. Samman, an Ultimate Fighter 17 veteran, has not fought since his victory over Kevin Casey (8-3-1) last April. The rest of UFC 181 goes as follows.

Both fighters have been looking for steps up in competition, and this bout should deliver just that for each of them. The bout also helps out a card that lost a little bit of its luster after UFC Middleweight Champion Chris Weidman (12-0) pulled out of his scheduled title defense against no 2. Vitor Belfort (24-10).

With a main card that is building its way back up to strength with the addition of Hendricks/Lawler, Gordon vs. Samman might be a fitting prelim feature bout. One thing is for certain. UFC 181 remains a card not to be missed.

Announced Card:

Welterweight Championship: Johny Hendricks (16-2) vs. Robbie Lawler (24-10)

Lightweight Championship: Anthony Pettis (17-2) vs. Gilbert Melendez (22-3)

Heavyweight: Travis Browne (16-2-1) vs. Brendan Schaub (10-4)

Heavyweight: Todd Duffee (8-2) vs. Anthony Hamilton (13-3)

Light Heavyweight: Gian Villante (12-5) vs. Corey Anderson (4-0)
