When Kevin Durant first entered the league for the Oklahoma City Thunder, the former Texas star was quiet and come across rather shy.

More from Kevin Durant

The reigning NBA MVP has come out of his proverbial shell though as he’s progressed into a leader and is far more verbal than he ever was. From telling his haters to ‘(expletive) off‘ to hinting he’s the best player in the league, nobody can ever accuse Kevin Durant of being that meager kid who looked too frail to succeed in the NBA.

Yet there are still questions surrounding the game of Durant which he doesn’t understand, suggesting that his killer instinct is on par with guys like Michael Jordan and Kevin Durant in an interview with Sam Amick.

“What I heard was that people would talk about me and say that I don’t have that killer dog in me, like a Kobe (Bryant) or — who else? — like Mike (Jordan), and those guys have,” he continues. “But I’m like, ‘I wouldn’t be able to survive this long in this league doing the stuff that I do at an elite level (if he didn’t have it). I wouldn’t be able to do it for seven straight years if I didn’t have that it,you know?’

It’s hard to disagree as Kevin Durant has quickly become one of the best closers in basketball, if not the best. What separates Bryant and Jordan are their championship rings though Kevin Durant is certainly doing what he can to join that conversation as well.
