Monday night was a disaster for the New England Patriots as they fell 41-14 to the Kansas City Chiefs on national television as Tom Brady took a seat on the bench after his second interception of the game was returned 39 yards for a touchdown in the opening minutes of the fourth quarter.

Former Super Bowl winning linebacker and former teammate of Brady with the Patriots and current ESPN NFL analyst, Tedy Bruschi, thinks it is time to lower your expectations about the Patriots offense this season.

“If you’re thinking Super Bowl right now, I’d say yes, it’s time to lower your expectations and get back to focusing on what’s going on within the AFC East,” Bruschi said via ESPN Boston. “You have three teams that are 2-2. I think it’s going to turn out to be a competitive race.”

The season is only 25 percent over and one of the best Patriots of all-time is already abandoning hope for the offense this year despite the presence of Brady and Rob Gronkowski, because he has zero faith in a makeshift offensive line.

“I don’t know what can be fixed right now offensively when you have offensive line problems like they have. … I’m going to tell you this: Even if they had Wes Welker, Randy Moss and whatever offensive weapons you want to name, they’d still be struggling, because they can’t block.”

I don’t think anyone would be surprised to see the Patriots right the ship and win the AFC East again over the Miami Dolphins, Buffalo Bills and New York Jets who all have quarterback issues, but the Patriots may have to rely on their defense in order to maintain their AFC East supremacy.
