The Cincinnati Bengals are trying to get back to the top of the AFC North but will likely have to go without Giovani Bernard on Sunday afternoon.

Things are just so-so in Cincinnati these days, as a football team that has consistently made the playoffs and then consistently lost is in danger of falling back in the AFC playoff race. The AFC North is up for grabs still and the Bengals are trying o get a foothold on the top spot in the division.

A Wild Card berth seems to be like a hard thing to ask for this season in the AFC, but the Bengals have a cushy game against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday that could pad their win total.

According to Paul Dehner Jr from the Cincinnati Enquirer, it looks like Giovani Bernard will not be a go on Sunday though, meaning Jeremy Hill could see the most work he’s had all season long.

"He’s fighting a clavicle injury and a hip pointer. This comes after battling through a rib injury the last few weeks. He’s taking a beating. It looks like it will catch up to him this week and Jeremy Hill will take over the load of the duties. The Bengals need some kind of spark in a running game that hasn’t been as potent as they would hope (look for more on that in Sunday’s advanced analytics portion of the Gameday section). Here was Skinny on the status of the running game against Jacksonville."

This is a huge win for fantasy football owners as Bernard was taking up a lot of carries in the Bengals backfield, rendering Hill nothing more than a handcuff. But this could be a game that not only results in major fantasy points for the LSU rookie, but it could be a coming out party that proves a running back tandem is what the Bengals need.
