Troy Vincent Told Adrian Peterson About ‘Time Served’
By Cory Buck
The previously reported NFL executive who told Adrian Peterson he’d be credited for time already served in 2014 against his suspension was Troy Vincent.
Upon hearing he was suspended for the rest of the 2014 NFL season, Peterson immediately appealed said suspension then claimed that an unnamed NFL executive assured him that he would be credited against his suspension for having missed all but one game in 2014 as a result of his child abuse misdemeanor.
Reports have now surfaced that the unnamed exec was in fact former player and current NFL Executive Vice President Troy Vincent.

The interesting part of Garafolo’s report is the fact that the NFL is not disputing that fact. This means that the league has already decided Peterson’s charges were essentially worth a season-long suspension. If that’s the case, Peterson may only miss a game or two at most at the beginning of the 2015 season.
The other possibility is that the league has a much bigger suspension in mind. Something like a two-year suspension or a lifetime ban, both of which are highly unlikely.
For now, the league is maintaining that they won’t revisit Peterson’s reinstatement until April. Depending on how Peterson’s appeal is ruled upon, they could see him sooner than then.
