Despite not exactly being the most talented, the Cleveland Browns felt they were best served by handing the starting running back duties to Ben Tate when the season began.
Isaiah Crowell quickly dispelled that sentiment when he was given a shot though it took a few weeks (more like months) for the Browns brass to cut the cord with Tate and give Crowell the starting gig. So far, so good as “Crow” has eaten up the Atlanta Falcons defense en route to two touchdowns on the afternoon.
His most impressive was a 26-yard run where he sliced and diced through the Falcons defense, expanding Cleveland’s slim two-point lead in the process.
No, Isaiah Crowell didn’t pull out any video game juke moves nor did his plow over any defender but he kept his feet churning and refused to go down despite multiple attempts.
Given his ability to easily cut through the Falcons defense thanks to his agility and speed you have to think the Cleveland Browns are pretty happy with their decision to give Crowell the starting job. Much more fun than watching Ben Tate plod through for a couple yards before falling to the ground.
