Peyton Manning: NFL Franchise Owner? It Could Happen
A recent CBS Sports article spotlights Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning’s possible intent one day own an NFL franchise.
Peyton Manning, NFL owner. Better yet, Peyton Manning, owner of the Tennessee Titans. That is a title that could very well be a future moniker for the 5 time league MVP.

There are two looming questions on everyone’s mind. When is Peyton Manning going to hang it up? What will he do upon retirement. A new article, courtesy of CBS Sports NFL Insider Jason La Canfora, attempts to provide some clarity into both topics.
So, when will Manning retire? That is the less pressing matter of the piece, as most around him assume that not even he himself is thinking about his playing future until the season comes to a close. There is just as much speculation that he will call it quits following the playoffs as there is claiming that he wants to lay waste to every major record in the books before stepping away.
The second question is also without a definitive answer. However, it is interesting to note Manning’s connection to Cleveland Browns owner Jimmy Haslem, who for a while along with Peyton, was interested in the Tennessee Titans. The two men maintain a good relationship, and Manning has some strong ties to Tennessee football; playing there in college, while setting many SEC career records along the way. In fact, the Titans were one of the few teams Manning was giving serious consideration to when his time with the Indianapolis Colts came to an end. Manning has also been somewhat open as to his intent to possibly take control of an NFL franchise one day.
It will certainly be interesting to see what path(s) Peyton Manning decides to take once his playing days come to an end. For the most marketable guy in the league, television seems like a looming opportunity. Then again, his super computer brain might be exactly what a team needs from an offensive coordinator, or even a head coach. The prospect of competing for a championship from the very top of the ladder appears to be one that piques Peyton’s interest most of all though. And if that is truly the case, very few football fans should take issue with that.
