Early on in the race, Johnson spun out on the track and made an incredible save to stay on the track.

He worked his way toward the top of the race standings, and he looked like a threat to win the Coca-Cola 600.

Unfortunately for Johnson, he spun out again, and this time he wasn’t able to save it as he slammed into the interior wall.

It’s a shame really as Johnson was looking like a contender to pick up his fourth win of the season.

The funny thing is that he almost saved it again, but this time he ran out of track and his car took a great deal of damage.

As a result, Johnson had to go to the garage with the damaged car. His crew chief Chad Knaus described the cars condition rather bluntly.

No doubt after having a great day on the track, the No. 48 crew is frustrated and the words of the crew chief say it all. Jimmie Johnson did a great job saving his car earlier, but luck didn’t strike twice for him.
