DraftKings MLB Picks: Top Bargain plays for September 29th (7:00 PM Only)

Finding value is the ever so elusive, “Holy Grail” in Fantasy Baseball.  Making cap room for pitchers and big bats can make all the difference in a lineup. With a little elbow grease in the research department, I’m hoping to offer a handful of players that could give critical salary relief for tonight’s DraftKings MLB picks.

Tonight’s slate features ten games, with Toronto (5.2), and New York (5.1) projected to score over five runs. The next highest team total belongs to St. Louis (4.7), Atlanta (4.6), Kansas City (4.6), and Los Angeles (4.6). Toronto and Kansas City have a few players that are under priced on DraftKings, which could potentially make for intriguing stacking options.

Tyler Austin – NYY (1B) – $2800

Tyler Austin was brought up from the minors in mid August, and has been successful against left-handed pitching. He’ll face the lefty, Henry Owens tonight, where he holds a .403 wOBA and a .250 ISO split. In his last appearance, he went 3 for 3 with a home run. Austin is under priced given the Yankees team total of 5.1 runs.

Seth Smith – SEA (OF) – $3700

Seth Smith had to leave the game last night after being hit by a pitch, in the foot. So we’ll have to monitor the status of his injury, but if everything check out, he should be considered tonight. Smith will draw a RHP, where he holds a .348 wOBA split.

Eric Hosmer – KC (1B) – $3600

Eric Hosmer and the Kansas City Royals will take on the Minnesota Twins, at home, tonight. Hosmer has gone deep in two of his last three games and will have a chance to repeat that again tonight. He fares better against righties with a .356 wOBA split.

Brandon Moss – STL (1B/OF) – $3300

Brandon Moss laid another goose egg last night, but I’m convinced, given the right matchup, he could strike gold. He’ll face another righty, Dan Straily, where he holds a .352 wOBA split and a ridiculous . 305 ISO split. The Card’s offense sputtered last night, but has another favorable projection for tonight’s game.

Devon Travis – TOR (3B) – $3500

Devon Travis is another player to keep an eye on from an injury stand point. Travis is now day-to-day with a shoulder injury, but could be in a very nice spot if he gets the start and is leading off. Baltimore will trot out righty, Ubaldo Jimenez. Travis now holds a .360 wOBA split against righties. Given Toronto’s projection of 5.2 runs, Travis would be under priced if he’s leading off.
