College Football Picks Against The Spread Afternoon November 12

College football can be a fickle beast. It is still easier to pick against the spread than the NFL, but when you pick every game, it can get tough. I struggled a little bit, okay a lot, last week so I still have a big hole to dig myself out of.

More from College Football Odds

In case you don’t know what I do here, I pick every college football game of the season. Against the spread. Trust me, it’s not as easy as it sounds! I take the average of the odds from all of the Vegas casinos. I then round to the nearest half. There will be no ties here. Ties are for the other football (soccer).

This contains the picks for FBS vs. FBS games only. It is too hard to get an accurate spread on games that involve 1-AA teams.

I will assign a point value “bet” on each game, between one and five points. That way you can see just how confident I am in each pick. Look for those at the end of each line.

This is for entertainment purposes only! I cannot be responsible for you losing any of your worldly possessions (or limbs) because of my picks. These are a guideline that you can use to help you with your picks. I am a simple man. I can’t have that on my conscience.

We have another 58 games this weekend this weekend, with 50 of them taking place on Saturday. I need a great final month to even make this year respectable. No time like the present, right?

Here are the other picks, just in case you missed any:
Tuesday-Friday
Early Saturday

Let’s get to the early Saturday picks for the week!

New Mexico State at Arkansas State(-19.5)(3): This looks awfully low. The Red Wolves are playing well lately, and are chasing down another bowl berth. Give me Ark State at home.

(9)Auburn(-9.5) at Georgia(4): Barring no fast ones, Sean White will be in from the start this week. It will make all the difference. Auburn wins BIG!

Vanderbilt at Missouri(-3.5)(2): I’m not all that sure that Missouri can beat anyone right now, even at home. Give me Vandy.

Army at Notre Dame(-13.5)(1): Where is the “none of the above” option? Eh…..Notre Dame, I guess.

Wyoming(-7.5) at UNLV(5): So…..what’s the catch? On paper, this isn’t even close. The line should be at least three times this. Wyoming rolls!

Pittsburgh at Clemson(-21.5)(1): We have seen good and bad for both teams, hence the low point bet on this. I can honestly see it going either way. Pitt either gets trampled or barely loses. There is no in between. I would normally take Pitt in this situation, so give me Clemson.

Georgia Tech at Virginia Tech(-14.5)(2): I don’t like the half, but I don’t like Georgia Tech’s recent play either. Give me the Hokies.

UTSA at Louisiana Tech(-21.5)(3): I don’t like the half, and the Roadrunners are the most schizophrenic team in college this year. That is the only reason why this isn’t a five pointer. Give me La Tech.

North Texas at Western Kentucky(-28.5)(2): Mike White has the Hilltopper offense humming along right now, but I don’t like that half at all. I’m still going with WKU, but I don’t have a lot of confidence in it.

Southern Mississippi at Old Dominion(-2.5)(1): I’m not sure about this one. Honestly, it is warranted. The Monarchs are playing much better than Southern Miss right now. Give me ODU.

Appalachian State at Troy(-1.5)(2): Well, I picked Appalachian in Pick Em, so I’m going to stick with that here. It should be a great game though!

Illinois at (7)Wisconsin(-24.5)(2): This looks high. Wisconsin can win by 14 and make it feel like 35. That will be the case here. Wisconsin wins, it wont be all that close, but they wont cover.

Tulane at Houston(-24.5)(1): This looks like too many with how Houston has played over the last month. I’ll do the wave!

(5)Ohio State(-29.5) at Maryland(2): This looks high, but Ohio State is also looking for style points just in case Washington wins out and Michigan loses somewhere else. That said, I don’t think they get it. The Buckeyes win, but don’t cover.

Texas Tech at (13)Oklahoma State(-12.5)(2): Tech has the offense to keep this close. I’m thinking under ten. Give me TT.

Idaho(-7.5) at Texas State(3): This looks low. Idaho didn’t get where they are by winning lucky. They have some talent on this team. Enough to win by two scores. I’ll take the Vandals.

Stanford(-2.5) at Oregon(1): Usually by this point of a season, a game like this is pretty clear. This year though, both teams have struggled and there is no clear favorite. Conventional wisdom tells me to take Oregon at home, but this year has been far from conventional. Oregon needs to win out to take a bowl. I’ll take the Ducks.
