Now that the 2017 NCAA Tournament is headed to the Final Four, take a look at the most interesting semifinals in recent memory.

Before the 2017 NCAA Tournament was underway, it seemed evident that this could be a year filled with major upsets. The field was relatively wide open and anyone could win the whole thing, but who would have guessed two teams have made their first Final Four ever and one hadn’t been in since 1939.

Can you believe we could have a fresh-faced champion in 2017? We are so used to Duke, North Carolina and Kentucky at the top of the mountain, but it’s time for some change. This season has been a cinderella team’s dream.

So who has made the Final Four which starts next Saturday?

The first team to punch its ticket to the national semifinal was Gonzaga. Mark Few and the Bulldogs are headed to their first-ever Final Four, which is surprising given the amount of success he’s had. Gonzaga took down No. 11 seed Xavier in the Elite Eight, rather easily, to get to the semifinal and the Bulldogs may very well seem like the favorite right now.

Next, it was Oregon who advanced. The Ducks are known more for their football program, but after a tumultuous 2016 season on the gridiron, a Final Four run has been just what the doctor ordered. They took down red-hot Kansas in the Elite Eight to advance to their first Final Four in nearly 80 years.

On Sunday, South Carolina kicked things off with a shocking win over Florida. It shouldn’t be considered a shock anymore since the Gamecocks have beaten Duke, Baylor and now Florida to get to the Final Four. This is their first trip in school history — they had never made it to the Sweet 16 before this year.

Lastly, North Carolina earned a trip to the Final Four with a win over Kentucky. Moreover, the Tar Heels will be considered the favorite in the semifinals with three new kids on the block to go up against.
