After years of being a Fastbreak Breakfast punching bag and the butt of tired NBA Twitter jokes, Jeff Green has finally found his niche as a role player. (I would say it’s a Christmas miracle, but that would be just another lazy joke.)

The journeyman forward who bounced from the Celtics to the Grizzlies to the Clippers to the Magic to the Cavaliers in the last four years is shooting over 50.0 percent from the field for the first time in his career and has thrived off the bench for Cleveland. Sure, playing with LeBron James has everything to do with it, but after criticizing the Cavaliers front office for bringing him in, it’s the least we can do to recognize he has filled into his role nicely.

And on the latest episode of Fastbreak Breakfast, we offer him our Breakfast in Bed apologies for getting that wrong. Because we want to make sure we don’t end up on the Naughty List.

Also covered on the latest episode:

  • What NBA gifts does Jon handpick for Keith and Chuck?
  • Who is the best Arvydas Sabonis doppelgänger?
  • Should the Suns give Alex Len another chance?
  • Which terrible thing about the Kobe Bryant retirement ceremony was the most terrible?
  • Will the Bulls ever lose again? What is the endgame for Nikola Mirotic?
  • Should Pacers fans have booed Paul George when they won the trade in a landslide?

And stick around for the Grizzlies Epilogue as we review the shocking new details of the Lorenzen Wright case and try to convince any last holdouts that Memphis must at the very least embrace the “graceful” tank.
