Here’s the recap of all the high-flying action you may have missed from this week’s episode of 205 Live. Watch the cruiserweights every Friday night at 10 PM.

This past Wednesday on NXT, there was a three-way match between Isaiah “Swerve” Scott, Lio Rush and Tyler Breeze. They were battling for a spot at Worlds Collide for Angel Garza’s NXT Cruiserweight championship in a Fatal Four Way match. Scott advanced.

NXT SuperStar Mansoor filled in on commentary for Aiden English and Jon Quasto filled in for Tom Phillips.

Tyler Breeze vs. Ariya Daivari

Last week, Breeze defeated Tony Nese in his 205 Live debut. Daivari has spent the last few weeks lamenting about how, as an 205 Live OG, he would protect the brand against newcomers. Daivari mocked Breeze by doing his signature pose on the turnbuckle. Breeze made him pay and then perched himself across the turnbuckle.

Breeze sent Daivari into the barricade, much to the delight of the fans. Once back in the ring, Daivari pulled Breeze’s hair and slammed his head into the mat. The ref had to remind Daivari to stay off the hair. Daivari put Breeze upside down in corner and stomped him to the point that the ref again had to make him back off. After some back and forth, Breeze sent “The Persian Lion” to the outside. He followed up with a couple right hands and kicks.

Daivari nearly pushed Prince Pretty into the ref. Daivari followed up with a uranagi, but Breeze kicked out. Daivari yelled in his face twice, “We don’t want you here.” Breeze responded with a Supermodel Kick. Breeze ducked the hammerlock lariat from Daivari and hit an enzuguri. Breeze nailed the Beauty Shot for the win.

Jack Gallagher has a few demands

205 Live GM Drake Maverick announced that “Gentleman” Jack Gallagher’s suspension had been lifted. Gallagher tweeted out his demands that must be met before he returns.

Lio Rush vs. Sunil Singh

Sunil was accompanied to the ring by his brother, Sumir. Last week, The Singh Brothers interfered in Rush’s match against Scott. The match ended up being a tag team match and was won by Swerve and Rush. Rush attacked Singh before tonight’s match could even start. Rush was on his signature quick offense. Sumir distracted Rush long enough for his brother to take advantage.

Sunil continued on the offensive once he got his opponent back in the ring. Sunil took to the top turnbuckle and nailed Rush with an elbow drop. He stayed on top of Rush with a submission hold. His gameplan to keep Rush grounded worked for a while, but Rush was finally able to break free.

Rush went for a dive when he was blocked by Sumir who was filming. While the ref was turned, Sumir took his brother’s place, but the ref quickly caught on and was tossed from ringside. Rush took advantage and nailed the Final Hour for the win.

Raul Mendoza vs. Isaiah “Swerve” Scott

Mendoza made his return to the purple brand to face the red-hot Scott. The two started off evenly matched. Mendoza took the lead with a standing huricanrana, followed by a dropkick through the ropes. Mendoza stayed on the offense and kept punishing Scott.

Swerve finally punched his way out of Mendoza’s grasp. Swerve kicked Mendoza from the apron. Once in the ring, he nailed a flying European uppercut. He followed up with consecutive kicks. Mendoza reversed the JML Kick with the Santa Maria. Scott and Mendoza traded blows.

Swerve attempted to jump over the top rope and was met by Mendoza’s foot in his jaw. Mendoza followed with a huricanrana and a moonsault, but it wasn’t enough to put Scott away.

Mendoza walked across the ropes to plant a dropkick before diving on the outside. Mendoza missed a moonsault and Scott hits Mendoza with a knee. After following up with the House Call, Swerve got his second consecutive victory.

Who will Swerve and Garza face at Worlds Collide for the NXT Cruiserweight title on January 25? Let us know in the comments.

Next. Chad Gable deserves better. dark
