Tim Tebow predicted that the Florida Gators would give the Alabama Crimson Tide “a whoopin'” on Saturday. He was wrong.

Perhaps the most anticipated game of Saturday was between top SEC schools, as the No. 1 Alabama Crimson Tide traveled to Gainsville to take on the No. 11 Florida Gators. Ahead of the game, Tim Tebow, Florida football legend, appeared on SEC Nation to give his prediction. That prediction was that the Gators would give the Crimson Tide “a whoopin'” on Saturday.

Tebow turned out to be wrong, as Florida narrowly fell to Alabama by the score of 31-29, now bringing their losing streak to eight games against the Crimson Tide.

Tim Tebow’s prediction of Florida upsetting Alabama turned out to be wrong

While Tebow’s prediction never came to fruition, the Gators presented themselves as a huge challenge for the Crimson Tide. In fact, this may have been the hardest game that Alabama will play for the remainder of the 2021 season.

The Gators entered halftime trailing 21-9 to Alabama, but came alive in the second half with three touchdowns. After Dameon Pierce’s second rushing touchdown of the half, the Gators attempted a two-point conversion to tie things up. They were stuffed at the goal line, leaving Florida with no choice but to stop Alabama’s offense to get the ball back. Unfortunately for them, they did so with four seconds remaining. On their only play, quarterback Emory Jones was sacked to officially notch the victory for Alabama.

With the loss, Tebow remains the last Florida quarterback to defeat Alabama, which came in the 2008 SEC Championship Game.

Florida will look to get back in the win column next weekend when they play the Tennessee Volunteers.
