Miami Hurricanes head coach Jim Larranaga had an amazing response when talking about the team’s upset win over the Auburn Tigers.

What do you know, there was yet another upset in the 2022 NCAA Tournament on Sunday, and it was not the only one of the day. The No. 10 Miami Hurricanes stepped up to the No. 2 Auburn Tigers in the Midwest Region and pulled off a commanding 79-61 victory to advance to the Sweet 16.

Prior to the game, analyst and Auburn alum Charles Barkley promised to take off his shirt if the Tigers were to advance to the Sweet 16.

When speaking after the win, Miami head coach Jim Larranaga opened his press conference by referencing Barkley’s promise if Auburn won and said “no one wants to see that Chuck.”

Larranaga was in a great mood after the win, as the Miami basketball team’s official Twitter account sent out a video of the coach dancing in the locker room with the players.

Miami entered halftime with a narrow 33-32 lead over Auburn and scored 46 points in the second half. The Tigers were limited to just 29 points once leaving the locker room.

On the night, the Hurricanes made 48.5-percent of their shots (32-for-66).

Hurricanes sophomore Isaiah Wong led the team with 21 points (8-for-18 from the field). Senior Kameron McGusty finished with the second-most points on the team with 20 while shooting 10-for-18 from the field.

Larranaga and the Hurricanes have reached the Sweet 16 for the first time since 2016, where they will take on the No. 11 Iowa State Cyclones, who defeated the No. 3 Wisconsin Badgers earlier in the night.
