This year’s NFL Draft has potential to get blasted with a flurry of trades, even on night one. So far we know these five teams want to move up.

NFL Draft weekend is here, and the madness kicks off tonight, Thursday, with the opening round. Of course, this is the most exciting round of the draft because it’s the night that the elite talent, most likely to become part of the next generation of NFL superstars, is selected.

This year’s draft is being held in Kansas City. Free to attend for anyone in the area, it’s being held right where the Chiefs celebrated their Super Bowl win just months ago. The players walking across the stage tonight all hope they can reach that same precipice during their NFL career.

What we know about this year’s draft is honestly, very little. Typically coming into the draft enough pieces start to trickle out so you can reasonably make some educated guesses about where players are going. It’s difficult to do that this year, and even GMs and NFL insiders have admitted this year’s draft has the potential to be more chaotic than any other.

Expect trades, and expect them early tonight. We did a roundup of all the details you need to know on trade rumors, but we also know teams to keep an eye up for moving up in the order.

Latest NFL rumors indicate which teams want to trade up in NFL Draft

According to Lance Zierlein, there are five teams that want to move up in the draft:

  1. Philadelphia Eagles (picks 10, 30)
  2. Atlanta Falcons (pick 8)
  3. Pittsburgh Steelers (pick 17)
  4. Green Bay Packers (pick 13)
  5. Tennessee Titans (pick 11)

Based on what we know, here’s our best guess as to what each team might want.

The Eagles are rumored to be moving up for one of the top pass rushers. They were the lowest team to meet with Jalen Carter, so he could be a target for them.

The Atlanta Falcons seem enamored with Bijan Robinson, but they can probably get him without trading up. Maybe they also want Jalen Carter, who played college nearby at Georgia?

The Pittsburgh Steelers need an offensive lineman and they are near the end of a long line of teams in their segment of the first round that also need OL. To get the guy they want the most, a trade-up could be necessary.

The Packers are a somewhat surprising appearance here. They already own the 13th pick thanks to the Aaron Rodgers trade. There aren’t any glaring positions of need expected to go before 13. Perhaps they are really looking to play petty with Rodgers though, as was rumored earlier this week.

The Titans, if they trade up, will be looking to get a quarterback. Pencil in C.J. Stroud or Anthony Richardson, perhaps?
