The Kansas City Chiefs might be without starting running back Jamaal Charles thanks to a high ankle sprain suffered by Charles in Week 2. However, after watching backup Knile Davis seamlessly pick up where Charles left off, coach Andy Reid is confident the team can approach Week 3 just like they would with Charles in tow.

When asked about the team’s game plan with Davis, Reid told the Kansas City Star, “I don’t think it would change much from what you saw yesterday. (Davis) was involved in a lot of different areas.”

Knile Davis racked up 79 rushing yards and two touchdowns as a fill-in for Jamaal Charles in the team’s Week 2 loss to the Denver Broncos, which was plenty enough production for the team to feel confident in its chances going forward even without Charles.

Davis was taken in the third round of the 2013 draft and has one start to his name. He started Week 17 for a Chiefs team that had been resting up for the wild card round. Now it appears that if Charles can’t go, the team will stand poised to give Davis his second career start.
