Denny Hamlin sat on the pole for Sunday’s race and his teammates joined him in the top-12, but all have officially ran into bad luck on Sunday.
It started with Carl Edwards getting a wrench in his car and then Matt Kenseth had suspension problems.
After that Kyle Busch, who was having the best run of the group, was involved in a wreck with Brian Scott as he tried to pass the slower car.
To cap the day off for Joe Gibbs Racing, Denny Hamlin was involved in a wreck that ended up taking out Kurt Busch as well.
As Hamlin got loose, he tried his hardest to avoid the interior wall but ended up getting turned sideways in the other direction and went straight into the back end of the No. 41 car.
It’s a shame to see yet another good run by Joe Gibbs Racing come to an early end, but it’s been apparent all day that this just isn’t their race.
Luckily there is always next week.
