Here is the pick against the spread and the team capsules for the AutoZone Liberty Bowl!

We have finally made it to the New Year’s Six Bowls! Unfortunately, that means that bowl season is nearing an end. Have your Bowl Mania picks been destroyed by upsets? Luckily you can still find places to play against the spread! I will continue with my picks until the very end. I am doing well in the points system, but I think I am struggling against the spread during bowl time. I am about six games behind, so maybe it gets better!

In case you missed how the point scale works, here is a brief rundown:

5. A lock. I am comfortable making a sizable wager on this game.

4. Very confident. Not quite a lock, but I am comfortable making a decent sized wager on it.

3. Middle of the road. Good enough that I would make a small wager on it.

2. Could go either way. So much so that I wouldn’t bet on it.

1. Stay away from these.

Just in case you missed any:

Now on to the AutoZone Liberty Bowl!

Kansas State(6-6, 3-6):

Losses: at Oklahoma State(34-36), vs. TCU(45-52), vs. Oklahoma(0-55), at Texas(9-23), vs. Baylor(24-31), at Texas Tech(44-59)

Record vs. bowl teams: 2-5

Bret Beilema’s seat got a little toasty early on after the losses to Toledo, Texas Tech, and Texas A&M. Then once the second half hit, the Razorbacks became one of the most feared teams in the SEC West again. They didn’t really start playing until after Halloween. The maturation of Brandon Allen and Alex Collins growing into the running back role without Johnathan Williams catapulted the Piggies back into relevance. The job their defense did on LSU didn’t hurt either, though there is cause for concern since they allowed a combined 103 points to the Mississippi schools in back to back weeks.

Kansas State won their first three and their last three. They had a nice six game losing streak – all in the conference – during the middle of the season. This is a team that was dominated by good teams, especially on offense. I’ve got bad news for you K-State fans: Arkansas is a good team.

My pick: Arkansas
