Here is the pick against the spread for the Valero Alamo Bowl!

There isn’t much left of this college football season. The calendar has struck 2016, and the National Championship game is set. That means only three more college football games for this season. Have your Bowl Mania picks been destroyed by upsets? Luckily you can still find places to play against the spread! I will continue with my picks until the very end. I am doing well in the points system, but I think I am struggling against the spread during bowl time. I am about six games behind on my DVR, so maybe it gets better!

In case you missed how the point scale works, here is a brief rundown:

5. A lock. I am comfortable making a sizable wager on this game.

4. Very confident. Not quite a lock, but I am comfortable making a decent sized wager on it.

3. Middle of the road. Good enough that I would make a small wager on it.

2. Could go either way. So much so that I wouldn’t bet on it.

1. Stay away from these.

Just in case you missed any:

Oregon struggled to move the ball when Vernon Adams was hurt or limited this year. You can tell when he returned to full health. The Ducks won their last six games of the season, and come into the bowls as one of the hottest teams going. The Duck defense gave up 20 or more in every game this season, so they need the offense operating at full speed to win. Right now they seem to be firing on all cylinders.

TCU definitely will not be. It was bad enough that they were going to be without top receiver Josh Doctson. Now they will be without quarterback Trevone Boykin who decided it was a good idea to sneak out after curfew and punch out a cop. Let this be a lesson to you all. If you absolutely have to punch someone, make sure it isn’t a cop. Even one of the most popular football players in the state of Texas isn’t immune to the kind of trouble that fetches.

Foster Sawyer started the Kansas game, and as you can see by the score, the TCU offense was a disaster. The Frogs still haven’t name a starter, but whoever it is, you know that he wont be the playmaker that Boykin is. It is going to fall on running back Aaron Green and receivers Kolby Listenbee and Kevontae Turpin to make some plays. They certainly can so long as the ball is in their hands.

This line opened even, and really never should have been. This line should be a lot higher than it is because TCU’s defense has had serious issues stopping average offenses. Oregon is a long ways above average. I smell another blowout.

My pick: Oregon
