A look at the results from the 2016 NCAA Tournament First Round match ups from Thursday
It’s like Christmas Day for a lot of College Basketball fans here on Thursday. Yes, that’s right, it’s time for the 2016 NCAA Tournament to get into full swing with a huge slate of First Round games.
We start the road to the national championship, and we get started off in a pretty solid way. To start things off here this season, the defending National Champion Duke Blue Devils will be in action shortly after Noon ET as they take on UNC Wilmington in West Region action. It’s not the UNC that they’re used to playing on a regular basis, but it’ll be a tough test for this Duke team nonetheless.
Speaking of UNC, the Tar Heels will start their journey as the No. 1 seed in the East, as they hope to eventually bring a second consecutive national title back to Tobacco Road.
Another No. 1 seed that we’ll see on the court will be the Kansas Jayhawks out of the South, and they’ll start things off by taking on Austin Peay. Austin Peay made quite the improbable run through their conference tournament as the No. 8 seed, but they’ll need a lot more than magic on Thursday if they want to become the first No. 16 seed to ever beat a one in Kansas, maybe the best team in the country right now.
Let’s get the Big Dance started, and you can follow along with each of the 16 games that will be taking place below. Just simply click on the respective game and you’ll be taken to live updates. Final scores will be updated when the games are completed.
Enjoy!
