Tracking all of the WWE WrestleMania 33 rumors and news to see what surprises and plans could be in store for Orlando

WWE WrestleMania 33 is no longer something to look forward to; it has arrived. On Sunday, April 2, Camping World Stadium will host the biggest pay-per-view of the year. Even in its worst years over three-plus decades, WWE has always pulled out all of the stops when it comes to this show. Subsequently, WrestleMania 33 should be no different at all.

At this point, there’s no real question about the matches on the card for Sunday night’s show. Goldberg will face Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship, Triple H and Seth Rollins will go to war in an non-sanctioned match, The Undertaker and Roman Reigns face off and so on. However, WWE is always a company that thrives off of their ability to surprise. So it’s right to expect something of the sort on Sunday night.

Of course, WrestleMania 33 isn’t the same as the Royal Rumble. The latter fuels plenty of speculation leading up to the show about surprise returns, debuts and so on. WrestleMania doesn’t necessarily bring that same type of hype.

With that being said, it’s still the culmination of the year in WWE, which means that big things are set to happen. That could mean a big debut or return, a shocking outcome to a match or a number of other things. The gist of the situation is to be prepared for anything.

But why not be as prepared as possible and at least know some things to look out for? With that in mind, we’ll be tracking all of the WWE WrestleMania 33 rumors from the week leading up to the show and throughout Sunday below. The latest rumors and bits of news will be listed at the top as they’re updated throughout the day.

Extra-Curriculars for Rollins-Triple H

According to F4WOnline.com, Samoa Joe is slated to interfere in the unsanctioned match between Seth Rollins and Triple H. What’s more, there’s chatter of Mick Foley also appearing and Stephanie McMahon is confirmed to be coming out to stand ringside.

Breaking Tradition, No appearance by The Rock tonight

According to Cageside Seats, The Rock is not supposed to appear at WWE WrestleMania 33. Everyone weeps.

WWE Revealing Match Order on Instagram

WWE is posting graphics on their Instagram account for the superstars in each match. In doing so, they may be slyly revealing the match order. That’s speculation to a degree, but the order would make sense off the start. If true, here’s the order to start the show, beginning with the two Kickoff Show matches:

  • Cruiserweight Championship: Neville vs. Austin Aries
  • Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal
  • RAW Tag Team Championship: Gallows & Anderson vs. Enzo & Cass vs. Cesaro & Sheamus
  • SD Women’s Championship: Alexa Bliss vs. Becky Lynch vs. Naomi vs. Carmella vs. Mickie James vs. Natalya
  • Intercontinental Championship: Dean Ambrose vs. Baron Corbin
  • John Cena & Nikki Bella vs. The Miz & Maryse
  • United States Championship Match: Chris Jericho vs. Kevin Owens
  • RAW Women’s Championship: Bayley vs. Charlotte vs. Sasha Banks vs. Nia Jax
  • AJ Styles vs. Shane McMahon
  • Triple H vs. Seth Rollins

More WWE/Hardys buzz

Matt and Jeff Hardy are hosting their BROKEN Tailgate Party in Orlando on Sunday afternoon. A video from the event, however, show’s an official WWE vehicle waiting outside—whatever that could possibly mean:

The List of Jericho a part of the show?

Chris Jericho appeared on ESPN with Jonathan Coachman and said that the famed List of Jericho will be featured as part of his entrance on Sunday.

Shake-ups to Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal lineup

In recent days, WWE has added Tian Bing and then Killian Dain from NXT to The Andre. As reported by Wrestling Inc., this has resulted in some superstars no longer being listed as participating. Those wrestlers are The Vaudevillains, Titus O’Neil, Kalisto, Sin Cara and The Ascension.

Matt and Jeff Hardy lose ROH Tag Titles, reportedly say goodbye

After rumors that their deal was all but done with WWE and that their return would happen soon, the Hardys lost their ROH Tag Team Championship match on Saturday to The Young Bucks. Per Wrestling Inc., they then seemed to say a cryptic goodbye to the ROH fans. What’s more, they also teased their return to WWE after the show while being interviewed.

Shinsuke Nakamura debut coming?

Shinsuke Nakamura lost to Bobby Roode in the main event of NXT TakeOver: Orlando. Following the match, he seemed to bid farewell to the crowd with a sing-along of his theme song. There have been rumblings of his call-up for some time, but whether it happens at WrestleMania 33 or on RAW or SmackDown in the subsequent nights remains to be seen.

Kurt Angle opens door on in-ring return

It’s unlikely that Kurt Angle will be wrestling in Orlando following his WWE Hall of Fame induction on Friday night. However, he stated in an interview with ESPN that he believes he’ll wrestle in WWE once again. Thus, you have to keep an eye out for the possibility at Mania.

Jim Ross back on the microphone

Multiple reports state that legendary commentator Jim Ross will call a match at WrestleMania 33, speculated to be the main event clash between Goldberg and Lesnar.

Unexpected show-closer

Though many thought the Goldberg-Lesnar match would close the show, reports indicate that it’ll be The Undertaker vs. Roman Reigns that ends the night in Orlando.

Shelton Benjamin healthy

Shelton Benjamin had a deal signed with WWE following the draft. However, his physical revealed a shoulder injury, thus calling off his return. He announced on Thursday, though, that he’s healthy and ready to compete immediately. It’s only speculation, but immediately would seemingly include WrestleMania 33.

Next: Best match from every WrestleMania in history

Nothing is certain until it happens, especially when it comes to WWE. But with all of the moving parts ahead of WrestleMania 33, fans are sure to be surprised and delighted a time or two throughout Sunday night.
