Los Angeles Rams rookie linebacker Jared Verse made waves before the divisional round of the NFL Playoffs by voicing his disdain for Philadelphia Eagles fans. Verse backed up his comments with a big game but Philly got the last laugh.
There was no sympathy for Verse after the Eagles knocked the Rams out of the playoffs, 28-22. The loss wasn't exactly his fault. The linebacker had two sacks, three tackles for loss and two QB hits. But he's still the lightning rod that attracted mocking from fans on social media.
No one was happier to send Verse and company to the offseason than Eagles fans.

Saquon Barkley joined in the teasing of Jared Verse
The mocking wasn't limited to social media either. Saquon Barkley seemed to intentionally slow down on his way to the endzone to tease Verse, who was trailing behind him.
Jared Verse spent the week saying how much he hates Eagles fans so Saquon slowed down to taunt him during his 60+ yard TD run. Playoff football is the best 🤣🤣pic.twitter.com/P2Wk2MFKTr

Verse can walk away from the season with his head held high. He gave Rams fans a lot to look forward to. Still, this was an example of how NFL players should be wary of writing checks that their teammates can't cash.
Weather played a role in all aspects of the game as some form of sleet or snow fell throughout the game. Rams running back Kyren Williams racked up 106 yards while Matthew Stafford threw for 324 yards and two touchdowns. However, each of those players lost a fumble during the game.
The Eagles ultimately came out on top on the back of Saquon Barkley's 205 yards and two touchdowns rushing. Barkley found the endzone from 62 and 78 yards out, his explosive plays making all the difference.
The Eagles get to continue their season with an NFC Championship Game appearance against the Washington Commanders. They're one more win from the Super Bowl.
As for the Rams, their season ends in disappointment, much to the enjoyment of Eagles fans.
