More from College Football Odds

I am back to give you all of the bowl picks against the spread. This year, I am going to do each bowl individually so you have all of the information you need to make your wager or pick, whatever the case may be.

Just in case you missed anything:

Northrop Grumman Military Bowl at Annapolis, MD:

Cincinnati(-2.5):

Wins: vs. Toledo(58-34), vs. Miami(OH)(31-24), at SMU(41-3), vs. South Florida(34-17), at Tulane(38-14), vs. East Carolina(54-46), at Connecticut(41-0), at Temple(14-6), vs. Houston(38-31)

Losses: at Ohio State(28-50), vs. Memphis(14-41), at Miami(FL)(34-55)

Record vs. Bowl Teams: 3-3

Virginia Tech:

Wins: vs. William and Mary(34-9), at Ohio State(35-21), vs. Western Michigan(35-17), at North Carolina(34-17), at Duke(17-16), vs. Virginia(24-20)

Losses: vs. East Carolina(21-28), vs. Georgia Tech(24-27), at Pittsburgh(16-21), vs. Miami(FL)(6-30), vs. Boston College(31-33), at Wake Forest(3-6 2OT)

Record vs. Bowl Teams: 4-5

Common Opponents:

Miami(FL): Both teams lost to the Hurricanes, but Cincy lost in Miami. Virginia Tech got creamed in Blacksburg. Advantage: CINCINNATI

Ohio State: Cincy lost by 22 in Columbus. The Hokies won in Columbus by 14 points in J.T. Barrett’s first start. Advantage: VIRGINIA TECH

Prediction:

The Bearcats won seven in a row to close out the season after their three game losing streak.  That said, their signature win is against an East Carolina team that fell apart defensively at the end of the year. Virginia Tech has at least two wins that are better than that.

Virginia Tech was derailed by injuries during the season. They were not the same team as the team that won in Columbus for much of the year. This was apparent in the losses to Miami and Wake Forest.

Cincinnati was the more consistent team throughout the course of the year. Virginia Tech does have the higher ceiling though, especially with that defense. That said, the Cincinnati front line is no slouch, and will give Michael Brewer fits. I simply trust Cincinnati more. Their offense is not stagnant like Virginia Tech’s is.

Pick: Cincinnati
