I am back to give you all of the bowl picks against the spread. This year, I am going to do each bowl individually so you have all of the information you need to make your wager or pick, whatever the case may be.

Just in case you missed anything:

New Era Pinstripe Bowl at Bronx, NY:

Boston College(-2.5):

Wins: at Massachusetts(30-7), vs. USC(37-31), vs. Maine(40-10), at North Carolina State(30-14), at Wake Forest(23-17), at Virginia Tech(33-31), vs. Syracuse(28-7)

Losses: vs. Pittsburgh(20-30), vs. Colorado State(21-24), vs. Clemson(13-17), vs. Louisville(19-38), at Florida State(17-20)

Record vs. Bowl Teams: 3-5

Penn State:

Wins: vs. Central Florida(26-24), vs. Akron(21-3), at Rutgers(13-10), vs. Massachusetts(48-7), at Indiana(13-7), vs. Temple(30-13)

Losses: vs. Northwestern(6-29), at Michigan(13-18), vs. Ohio State(24-31 2OT), vs. Maryland(19-20), at Illinois(14-16), vs. Michigan State(10-34)

Record vs. Bowl Teams: 2-4

Common Opponents:

Massachusetts: BC won by 23 at Gillette Stadium. Penn State won by 41 at home. Advantage: PENN STATE

Prediction:

BC started pretty well, and all of their losses were by ten points or less except for the Louisville game. They beat USC and hung with Florida State. While Penn State came close to poaching Ohio State, they never really pulled of a “big win.” The closest one was the win at Indiana.

Both teams have solid defenses. Boston College wants to run the ball, and run some more. Led by dual threat Notre Dame transfer Tyler Murphy, the Eagles are going to another bowl despite losing super back Andre Williams.

Virginia Tech plays a similar defense to Penn State, and Boston College managed to pull out a win there. This will likely be a low scoring game, but I have to go with the proven winner. Christian Hackenberg actually seems to have regressed as the year went on. You don’t need me to tell you that that is a major issue.

Pick: Boston College
