5. A lock. I am comfortable making a sizable wager on this game.
4. Very confident. Not quite a lock, but I am comfortable making a decent sized wager on it.
3. Middle of the road. Good enough that I would make a small wager on it.
2. Could go either way. So much so that I wouldn’t bet on it.

Washington is a very young team, particularly on offense. Jake Browning was handed the keys from the very beginning a la Keith Price, and he had some growing pains along the way. He also had some huge games, particularly against Arizona, Oregon State, and Washington State. Fellow freshman Myles Gaskin has world class speed, and can change the game. Oh, and the Huskies still have a very good defense.
Southern Miss fans are relieved that the lean years are over, but they get a tough draw here. Can their defense make Browning make mistakes? Can they contain the playmaking ability of Gaskin? We know the Eagles can score. They topped 50 points five times, and hit the 40’s twice more. Can they do it against a Washington defense that is better than any they have faced so far?
The wild card here is Browning. Just by looking at the capsule above, you can see where he struggled. I think this game might stay low scoring. If it does, it favors Washington, but it also favors those who are taking the points.
My pick: Southern Mississippi
