Prediction:
The Houston offense took off after Gary Ward was inserted at quarterback. The defense still had issues at times though. As with any young QB, Ward sometimes had trouble leading the team from behind. Houston lost four of five games by eight points or less.
Pittsburgh, as per usual, was very up and down. What I don’t understand is how they have one of the top ten backs in the country in James Conner and only won six games. They even lost to Akron. Not Cincinnati, not Toledo. AKRON. Then again, Pitt’s win over Miami and Virginia Tech were better than anything Houston showed, besides maybe the win over Memphis.
Houston is the more exciting team on both sides of the ball, but they are going to have serious issues trying to stop James Conner. If they can make Chad Voytik try to beat them, they have a great chance to win this game. Pittsburgh has two future NFL players at skill positions in WR Tyler Boyd and RB James Conner. It is hard to win without consistent play at QB and on the defense.
Although it is not like Houston is a model of consistency either, but you at least know what you’re going to get from them. I just trust consistency more, as you can tell in my FanDuel lineups.
Pick: Houston
